What's included in a Heathrow private transfer

Every booking with UK Airport Transfer Services includes:

Fixed price confirmed at booking. The price you receive when you book is the price you pay. Traffic, delays, or time of day do not change the fare.

Meet-and-greet in arrivals. Your driver waits inside the arrivals hall — not in a car park, not outside. You will receive a text message with your driver's name, photo, and vehicle registration before your plane lands.

Free flight monitoring. Your driver tracks your flight in real time. If you land early or late, the pickup time adjusts automatically. This includes diversions to other airports.

60 minutes of free waiting time. From the moment your flight lands, you have 60 minutes before any waiting charge applies. This covers immigration, baggage reclaim, and customs without pressure.

No hidden charges. The £7 Heathrow drop-off fee, ULEZ, and central London congestion charge are all included in your quoted price.

24/7 availability. Transfers are available at any hour with no additional charge for early morning or overnight bookings.

Child seats on request. Age-appropriate ISOFIX seats are available at no extra cost — specify the child's age at the time of booking.

Heathrow terminals — which airline uses which terminal

Confirming your terminal before booking means your driver knows exactly where to meet you. Heathrow has four passenger terminals:

Terminal 2 — primarily Star Alliance carriers: Lufthansa, United, Air Canada, ANA, Singapore Airlines, SWISS, TAP Air Portugal, and others.

Terminal 3 — includes Emirates, American Airlines, Qantas, Cathay Pacific, Delta, and Virgin Atlantic.

Terminal 4 — used by a selection of airlines including some KLM services, Malaysia Airlines, and several charter and independent carriers. Terminal 4 sits south of the main airport complex and requires a separate approach.

Terminal 5 — exclusively British Airways and Iberia. The largest and most modern terminal, furthest from central London.

If you are unsure which terminal your flight uses, check your airline's website or your boarding pass — the terminal is confirmed at check-in.

Meet-and-greet — where to find your driver

After clearing customs and walking through into the public arrivals area, your driver will be waiting at the following points:

Terminal 2: By the WHSmith near the international arrivals gate exit.

Terminal 3: In front of the WHSmith/Boots area directly opposite arrivals, on the right-hand side as you exit customs.

Terminal 4: Near the WHSmith on the arrivals level, at the base of the escalators from international arrivals.

Terminal 5: At the Costa Coffee in the central arrivals area, or near Caffè Nero depending on your specific exit gate.

Your driver will be holding a board with your name. You will also receive a text message with their name, photo, and vehicle registration approximately 30 minutes before landing, so you know exactly who you are looking for.

Vehicle options

Standard saloon — ideal for 1–3 passengers with standard luggage. Comfortable, air-conditioned, and the most cost-effective option for solo travellers or couples.

Executive Mercedes E-Class or S-Class — the choice for business travellers, executives, or anyone wanting a premium, quiet cabin. Climate-controlled, acoustic glass, ample boot space.

8-seater Mercedes Vito or V-Class — for families, groups, or passengers with significant luggage. Fits up to 8 passengers and handles large cases, sports equipment, or multiple checked bags. Also available in face-to-face conference configuration for business groups.

All vehicles are maintained to a high standard and driven by DBS-checked, licensed private hire drivers.

The £7 Heathrow drop-off fee explained

Heathrow charges a £7 fee for all vehicles entering the terminal drop-off zones. This fee is collected automatically via ANPR (number plate recognition) cameras at the entrance to each terminal's set-down area. Vehicles have a 10-minute window in the drop-off zone — overstaying triggers an additional extended-stay charge.

With UK Airport Transfer Services, this fee is absorbed into your fixed price. You will not be asked for it separately on the day, and it will not appear as a surcharge after the fact.

Private transfer vs. other options — which is right for you?

Choosing between a private transfer and public transport comes down to your group size, luggage, and how much the journey itself matters.

Heathrow Express (15 minutes to Paddington) is the fastest rail option from the airport to central London. It works well for a solo traveller with light luggage who is staying near Paddington or can easily connect from there. It does not work well if you have significant luggage, are travelling as a group, or are heading anywhere that requires a second Tube journey.

Elizabeth line (30–45 minutes to central London) is the best value rail option and connects to more of London than the Heathrow Express. Comfortable in off-peak hours, crowded during rush hour. Good for passengers staying near Elizabeth line stations.

Uber and rideshare are available from Heathrow but require you to walk to a designated pickup zone in a multi-storey car park rather than meeting a driver in the arrivals hall. Prices are dynamic and can increase significantly during busy periods or high demand.

Pre-booked private transfer is the right choice when you have luggage to manage, are travelling with family or a group, have an early morning or late-night flight, or simply want the certainty of a named driver, a fixed price, and a door-to-door journey. For two or more passengers, the total cost of a private transfer is often comparable to two Heathrow Express tickets — with door-to-door service included.
